A special thanks goes out to everyone who helped put together the Valentine’s event of the year.
This year we had quite a few activities, so you might want to check out the slide show (click here) to see pictures of all of them.
Before starting to partake of the scrumptious food spread, Charlie gave us a brief discussion about “love”. It is interesting some languages have more than one word for “love”
Everyone then made a beeline for the food. Again we have to thank not only our Friendship Partners but some of our International Friends who brought tasty treats from the home land. It was all outstanding.
After food, but before desert, we had a time to engage in a number of fun activities
One of our international friends, had two great game ideas. Both required the use of a balloon.
The first event had each person tie a balloon to one leg. Next, when the music stated, everyone tried to explode everyone else’s balloon. And while doing that you need to protect your own balloon. You really have to see it to get the idea. It took some time, but we finally had a winner.
Next up was the “don’t break or lose the balloon on your back” game. Here a pair of folks hold a balloon on their back. They had to dance around and keep the balloon from falling. Again you have to see it.
After all that fun, we were again lucky to have Marcelina with us. She showed everyone how to dance a couple of very important Texas dances. Including the “Texas Two Step”, and “Line Dancing”. We might all need some more practice which is all the fun.
Next up was the desert table. This year we had a chocolate fountain running both “red” and “dark” chocolate. Not to mention the table full of great sweets.
And while all that was going on, we had the return of the “Giant Heart”. As always a big hit as folks took their pictures in the heart. There was also a game or two going on. And lots of time catching up with old friends and making new ones.![]()

So thanks again to everyone who made this a wonder evening.
