Christmas Bash

Well Merry Christmas to all!  Yesterday evening we had a very special Christmas party with just about everything you can image.

IMG_6467 Well where to start with this?  There was food.  We had tasty treats and fabulous foods of all kinds.  As everyone was arriving there was a table full of pre-dinner snacks.  Everyone had their fill.

But that was not all, later the tables were cleared and then the real food came out.

And of course plenty of deserts for after the meal.

Then there was the fun.  For the kids, and the grown ups also, thereIMG_6507 was a special puppet show and demonstration by the great Houston puppeteer Jean Kuecher.  The kids were entranced and we all heard the real Christmas story.

So now that everyone is in the Christmas spirit, we were completely shocked as who should make an entrance through the kitchen?

IMG_6511 None other than Santa Claus himself.  It was an early appearance for him.  He reported that he still had a few more days of working on the toys before the big delivery.

But he did manage to make a special delivery for all the children that were attending the event.  Every kid received a gift by name.  How impressive is that.

IMG_6526 He stayed for a few pictures with the adults and some of the kids.  Then it was out the window to make his way back to the North Pole.

Next up was the great “Left Right” game.  Everyone received a small gift.  Then making a big circle, folks passed their gift to the left or to the right, every time they heard the words.  This sounds easy but listening to a story for the words—well we had to stop a few times with folks stuck with two or three presents.

And during the course of the evening we did some Christmas carols.  Those made it on YouTube and you can watch that performance by clicking here.

Plus we have some great pictures so you can click here to see the slide show.

Well, it was a wonderful evening.  Thanks to the great team of friendship partners, volunteers, cooks, decorators, and clean-up teams.  It is their hard work and planning that made this an evening to remember. Thanks from all of us.

Great to see everyone again and hope to see you at our next event.

See you soon,
